We are a multi-generational house with a living tradition.
For over 50 years, the Sinz wine house has stood for living tradition and warm hospitality in the heart of the Rheingau. As a genuine multi-generational house, we have been carrying on the passion for our Rheingau cuisine and regional wine for three generations. The successful concept that Lore and Hermann Sinz created from excellent cuisine, exquisite wines and a wonderful ambience is now being continued by Katharina and Klaus Sinz and the younger family members Malena and Niklas – with new, modern accents.
“Here at Weinhaus Sinz, hospitality is the guiding principle of our house – warm, familiar and always concerned about your well-being.”
Our Story
Our Story
Hermann Sinz and Lore Bott met and fell in love as children and became engaged.

After the wedding and the birth of their son Klaus, the path into the catering industry led via “Aunt Änni”, who supported the two in the Winzerhaus Frauenstein and later took it over.

In October 1971, the opportunity arose to purchase the restaurant “Zum Herrngarten”, today’s “Weinhaus Sinz”, which was taken over on October 13, 1971. The first renovations began in the garden with a beautiful pergola. Five years earlier, daughter Andrea was born.

The cellar was expanded and in this process the current bay window or Barbara Room was created, named after daughter Barbara, who was born in 1974.

During this time, Klaus Sinz completed a cooking apprenticeship at the Hirschen in Glottertal, later at the 4 Jahreszeiten in Munich and passed his master craftsman examination.

The hotel was expanded with 6 beautiful guest rooms and additional guest rooms were created in the restaurant on the ground floor.

In 1992, Klaus Sinz married and Niklas Sinz was born. In the same year, Klaus Sinz and his wife Katharina Gierten-Sinz took over the Sinz winery and the house is now run by the family.

The family purchases the “Höfchen” in the immediate vicinity, which includes two hotel rooms and an apartment.

The Sinz family purchases the “Rebenhof” opposite, which is converted into a hotel with four beautiful hotel rooms. The Hotel and Weinhaus Sinz gets a new website with booking and reservation options. The hotel and restaurant offer guests free WiFi.

The Weinhaus Sinz develops a comprehensive safety and hygiene plan in the first year of Corona. Niklas Sinz marries Malena Kregel and Pippa Sinz is born in February 2021.

The Hotel and Weinhaus Sinz is getting a new coat of paint this year and is preparing for its planned reopening.

After a seven-month forced break, the Sinz family and team are happy about the reopening.

“It is a great pleasure and at the same time an obligation for us to continue the unique history of the Hotel and Weinhaus Sinz. The beautiful location at the foot of the vineyards combined with the charm of the half-timbered house are a family treasure. We want to inspire the guests of the next generation with passion and commitment.”
